The presenter Rodrigo Faro turns 51 this Sunday (20) and revealed that the healing of his wife, the businesswoman Vera Viel 49, was the biggest birthday present he could get.
The statement was made during an interview with the couple and their three daughters — Clara, 19, Maria, 16, and Helena, 11 — during the program Domingo Espetacular, on TV Record. In the chat, they also recalled the discovery of the tumor, which was located on the model’s left thigh.
“According to the doctors, this tumor was already on me at the beginning of the year and it grew slowly and I only discovered it because I started taking classes and with the impact that Muay Thai has, you kick a lot, and with the kicks, it ended up bursting. and then it turned into a bruise and became a nodule, a clot, which I could feel”, explains Vera, also saying that Rodrigo Faro insisted that she investigate with tests.
The businesswoman and the presenter were moved when they recalled that the lump was synovial sarcoma, a type of cancer that affects soft tissues, such as muscles or ligaments.
Vera Viel underwent surgery on the 11th to remove the tumor. She discovered the nodule two days before her birthday and celebrated the date — October 12th — with her family, at the hospital.
“It was God’s purpose”, concluded Vera after undergoing the procedure. Alongside Faro, she also spoke about her relationship with faith. Afterwards, the presenter also showed a video of his wife after returning from surgery, in which she spoke about her encounter with God. “He gave me so much life”, mentioned the businesswoman at the time.
“Today Vera is cured of cancer. The tumor was removed, with a safety margin of 5 millimeters, which is an excellent margin. The reconstruction of her veins was an absolute success, we have to monitor it. The big concern is thrombosis, due to the artery, which was reconstructed”, explained the presenter.
Finally, Vera Viel says that she is already able to walk a lot and mentioned that next month, she will start radiotherapy sessions. “I always worried about my legs, about having beautiful legs and I had a tumor on my leg. Today I don’t care about having two scars on my leg, I want to show it to people”, he says.
“I need my legs so much to take care of my daughters, to walk, to be with them. I’ve changed a lot”, he concludes.
This Sunday (20), Rodrigo Faro celebrated his birthday alongside his family and thanked Vera Viel. She, in turn, had already declared herself to her partner.
“He is the man who take care of me and your family in the way God desires. I know that today your best and greatest gift is my healing, and I can’t help but thank you for being by my side without letting go of my hand for even a second in this difficult moment we are going through!”
